I know you shouldn't expect a masterpiece when you rent a film that features Arnold Schwarzenegger in a leading role, but even so. The special effects were good for a 1970s film and Claire Danes's acting was about on the level of what I could manage (although she certainly looks better than I do).
What I really wonder about, however, is the screenplay. It is basically a series of confrontations. Given that these kinds of films often cost somewhere around a hundred million dollars, I wonder whether they couldn't have invested some more in that department. I guess someone like Tom Wolfe would gladly have given half a year of his working life in return for two million or so. (4.5/10)
