Just Wondering
Whatever happened to that huge Creutzfeld-Jakob epidemic that we were promised a few years back? Overslept? Just can't bother turning up? Has better things to do?

Looks like it isn't coming - but there is a theory that there could be a second peak of vCJD due to the genetics of prion protein in an analogous way to kuru - so that the first wave had a particular (rarer) genetics that promoted early development of vCJD, but that many more people were exposed but haven't manifested yet because they have genetics that predispose towards later development - I guess we'll see.
