Elizer Yudkowsky has reposted his text on Stanislav Yevgrafovich Petrov who, if Elizer's description is anything to go by, more or less single-handedly avenged nuclear war between the US and the USSR 25 years ago today. Assuming the post isn't completely inaccurate, why has this bloke never received the Nobel peace prize?
Um, maybe it has something to do with the prize not being about peace anymore.
